Extracurricular Music Events at BCTHS

Coffeehouse I and II

These two events happen in the Fall of each school year, and provide an opportunity for students to perform “unplugged” material they choose, either solo, duo or in groups. The “coffeehouse” name alludes to the quieter, calmer nature of these musical programs, as opposed to loud rock bands. Mr. Pfaff and other faculty accompany some performances. These events happen in the BCTHS Auditorium. Sign-ups are usually opened two or three weeks in advance of each Coffeehouse. Please consult the CALENDAR OF EVENTS link for all event dates.

Broadway Night

Taking place in late February or early March each year, Broadway Night is a cabaret-style show in two acts, made up of a variety of Broadway show numbers performed by members of the Broadway Night cast. This event is BCTHS’s answer to the impracticality of rehearsing and mounting a full musical production. Broadway Night employs the creative use of minimal props and scenery to create a memorable, musical, high-quality event. Broadway Night has successfully run every year since 2010. Mr. Pfaff and two additional professional pit musicians assist the cast. Students should watch for audition announcements. Audition and performance dates can be found on the CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

Sounds For Hope

Sounds For Hope is BCTHS’s yearly benefit concert and has become a very popular and highly anticipated event each year. SFH was first conceived by social studies teacher Gebhardt Zurburg in 2005, and has raised money for worthy charities every year since. Students should watch for audition announcements. Audition and performance dates can be found on the CALENDAR OF EVENTS.
